Maiden & Associates was founded in 1980 as an architectural/engineering firm specializing in design for renovation, alterations and repairs, historic preservation, and environmental design by Willie J. Maiden, AIA during the years as a professor of architecture at Howard University.
Mr. Maiden graduated at the top of his class at Howard University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, specializing in Building Technology and at the top of his class from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Master of Architecture in Advanced Studies degree, specializing in Environmental Design.
Willie J. Maiden, AIA, CSI, NFPA, ICC LEED is president and is a highly respective member of several professional organizations including the International Code Council. He once held a Third-Party Plan Reviewer (PEER Reviewer) certification which authorized to review and approve any sized project drawings for Building Permit in the District of Columbia. A unique background in the field of architecture combined with the disciplines of structural, mechanical and electrical engineering for buildings allows Mr. Maiden to head a multidiscipline design firm.
